writer • musician • government affairs professional

Hi! I’m Peter Severson.

My original writing has appeared most recently in Mockingbird, Living Lutheran, Princeton Alumni Weekly, and TheBillfold.

I have been making music professionally for over 25 years, with significant experience in community song-leading and sacred music. My principal instruments are voice (baritone), piano, organ, and euphonium. I have played for numerous weddings, funerals, and other ceremonial events and I regularly serve as a substitute organist at houses of worship.

For over ten years, I served as a professional advocacy director and lobbyist, leading an organization dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty in Colorado through public policy change and community action. I now serve as a county government liaison for the Colorado Department of Human Services.
